“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:3
This has been the resounding theme of our past two months as we step into the last quarter of the year at Baan Dem Rak. God has been highlighting our need to connect with the body of Christ at a deeper level, especially with the wider YWAM Thailand family. When we are united in spirit and vision, we can see more clearly how each of us plays a part in reaching the whole of Thailand for Christ.
It’s been a hectic yet deeply fruitful season for us. Over these two months, we hosted two mission teams from Singapore, organised a Sports Day for our BDR neighbourhood, served in the media team for the YWAM Thailand conference, and coordinated a wedding for two of our staff. Through it all, we’ve seen God open doors and pour out His grace in every situation.
Mission Teams from RLC
We were so blessed by the teams we received in September from our home church, RiverLife Church Singapore. Not only did they serve tirelessly, they also took time to love, encourage, and train our staff.

In Thailand, where less than 1% of the population is Christian, our Thai staff often lack a strong support system as they serve in full-time ministry. Even within their local churches, their callings can sometimes be misunderstood. When mission teams come alongside us to join in outreach, worship, and relationship-building, we see God move powerfully not only among the children, youth, and adults we serve, but also within our staff. Their faith is strengthened and their hearts are renewed for the work ahead.
BDR Sports Day 2025

Every year, our Sports Day serves as a bridge into the Christmas season, a fun and meaningful way to connect with families and the community. This year, we felt led to host it at the local park, which meant reaching out to the Deputy Mayor of Chiang Mai District for permission and support. God moved his heart to give us full approval and even his encouragement.

Despite the rain, we had a wonderful turnout. The children had so much fun, and 26 of them prayed the salvation prayer and invited Jesus into their hearts. Many continue to attend our faith groups, taking small steps in knowing and following Him. It was such a joy to witness hearts turning to the Lord, a reminder that every seed planted in faith will grow in His time.

YWAM Thailand Conference

Together with over 400 YWAMers from across Thailand and around the world, we gathered in Khon Kaen Province for four days of worship, fellowship, and realignment to God’s calling over our nation. It was both refreshing and eye-opening to hear what God is doing across every region of Thailand.
The BDR team had the privilege of serving in the media team, handling slides, projection, videography, photography, and video editing. For most of our staff, this was a brand-new challenge. We had to learn on the go, but everyone served with excellence and joy. It was a step of faith, and God met us in it.
Coming home from the conference, we all felt a renewed sense of belonging within the larger YWAM Thailand family and a clear call to stay connected and serve in unity to see Thailand reached for Christ. We also hope to continue growing in our creative and media skills so we can bless more ministries in the future.

Bloh and Mot’s wedding

One of the sweetest moments this season was celebrating the wedding of our staff members, Bloh and Mot. We had the privilege of coordinating their wedding so that they could enjoy their special day without worry. The entire BDR family came together to help with the wedding: serving as ushers, planners, and supporters.
The ceremony was beautiful, joyful, and centred on God’s goodness. As they begin this new chapter as husband and wife, we are excited and prayerful to walk alongside them in discipleship and life together.

Kids hearing God’s voice
Recently, Sheryl led a session in our kids’ faith group on hearing God’s voice. During the session, the children were invited to spend some time waiting before the Lord and listening to Him in silence.
To be honest, we wondered if the kids would be able to still their hearts long enough to hear from God. Sheryl shared about God’s character and His heart to speak to us, and lead the children in quieting their hearts to listen. As the kids listened, God spoke to them.

“God loves me like a father.”
“God calls me a good child.”
“I am loved and cherished by God.”
“God told me to continue being a good person.”
“God told me I’m a good friend.”
“God loves me and the people around me.”
“God showed me his hands embracing my mother’s heart.”
Their simple yet profound responses reminded us that God truly speaks to those who seek Him, no matter their age. We were deeply encouraged to witness the children hearing His voice for themselves. It renewed our faith that God is present and at work in every faith group, and that He alone is the one who brings real growth in our lives.
Pray with us
Following God’s leading is always a journey of courage, faith, and surrender, and we’re learning to walk it one step at a time. We’d love for you to stand with us in prayer for the coming months:
Personal Renewal – For wisdom, rest, and spiritual refreshment for us and our team.
Christmas Outreach 2025 – Pray for God’s provision, creativity, and favour as we prepare for this year’s community event, that many will encounter Jesus for the first time.
Team Unity and Strength – For the BDR staff to serve with one heart and spirit as we close the year.
Newlyweds Bloh and Mot – That their marriage will be a testimony of God’s faithfulness and grace.
Media and YWAM Partnerships – For continued growth and open doors to serve creatively.
Thank You!
As we reflect on this season, our hearts are full of gratitude for what God has done, for the people He’s brought alongside us, and for your continued partnership and prayers. These past two months have reminded us again that we are not alone in this mission.
We are one in Spirit, going together into the nations until every heart in Thailand and beyond knows His name.
With love and gratitude,
Jason and Sheryl
